A French-language writer, he was born in Fès, Morocco.

Apart from writing novels and poems, he also works with La Repubblica.

His favourite themes are the stories, legends and traditions of the African Maghreb. He is very aware of problems in society and suburban areas, and is committed to the fight against racism.

He won the “Global Tolerance Award”, presented by UN Secretary Kofi Annan, for the profound message contained in his book “Racism, As Explained to my Daughter”.
