Odile Decq has a unique take on the colour black. First of all, for her, black IS a colour, it’s light, and life, it contains everything. In this video, she explains what black means to her, and explores what it means for others – how black is full of contrasting associations, such as mourning and priests, but also Chanel’s little black dress. For her, black is the colour for clothing and home decorating – she says her house is all black. And Hell, she believes, is also black and white, while Heaven is all white, which is awfully boring, and so she would rather go to Hell!
