Mattador prize call for screenplays

Illywords received news of this call for submissions that will be of interest to young screenwriters worldwide. Tenders are called for the 2010/2011 Mattador Award for Italian and international young screenwriters. The award is in memory of Matteo Caenazzo, an eclectic and talented young man from Trieste who died at the age of 23 from leukemia last year.

The Competition includes two different sections: a story competition for young writers between 16 and 23 years of age and a screenplay competition for writers between 16 and 30 years of age. Awards include monetary prizes and an innovative education scholarship. A new section called CORTO86 and dedicated to short films was launched in this second edition: the winner will be rewarded with the production of a short film taken from his/her script.

No participation fee is required. Applications through the Mattodor website. Deadline April 15, 2011.
